Clinical Biochemistry
Our clinical biochemistry department offers a comprehensive range of fully automated testing, seamlessly integrated with a high-speed Laboratory Information System (LIS). Equipped with advanced analyzers like Roche Cobas c311, Avantor, Roche Pure, and Yumigen H550, we efficiently perform a wide variety of biochemical assays based on core CLIA principles.
We provide accurate and timely analysis across a broad spectrum, including lipid profiles, liver function tests (LFT), kidney function tests (KFT), calcium and phosphorus levels, enzyme studies, thyroid and reproductive hormone testing, therapeutic drug monitoring, oncology markers, bone metabolism assessments, anemia panels, and more.
With cutting-edge technology and a focus on quality, we ensure reliable results to support better clinical decisions.
Clinical Pathology
Clinical pathology plays a vital role in diagnosing diseases through detailed laboratory analysis. At our facility, we utilize the Abbott UroMeter 120, a state-of-the-art urine chemistry analyzer that provides precise information on key health indicators.
This advanced system measures blood, bilirubin, urobilinogen, ketones, proteins, nitrites, glucose, pH levels, specific gravity, leukocytes, and ascorbic acid in human urine — offering essential insights to aid in accurate diagnosis and effective treatment planning.
Haematology
Our haematology department is equipped with advanced automated analyzers, including the Acu Medica and Horiba Pentra ES60, ensuring fast, accurate, and reliable blood analysis.
These cutting-edge systems deliver comprehensive Complete Blood Count (CBC) results, covering red blood cell (RBC) and white blood cell (WBC) counts, platelet counts, hemoglobin levels, hematocrit, red cell indices, and a detailed leukocyte differential.
With high precision and rapid turnaround times, our haematology services support early diagnosis and effective management of a wide range of medical conditions, enhancing patient care at every step.
Microbiology
The Biomerieux BACT/ALERT 3D system is an advanced instrument used for clinical microbial identification. The Microbiology department handles both traditional and automated methods for bacterial and fungal cultures, along with antibiotic sensitivity testing.
Staffed by highly skilled doctors and technical experts, the department performs key diagnostic tests such as bacterial growth detection, microscopic identification (including Gram stain and Ziehl-Neelsen stain using four techniques), and antibiotic resistance profiling. The BACT/ALERT 3D automachine enhances accuracy and efficiency in delivering vital results to clinicians.
Serology
The ALTA ADX 110 ELISA Reader is a user-friendly microplate analyzer equipped with special filters for up to six standard wavelengths and integrated analysis software. Designed for in vitro diagnostic use, it accurately measures and interprets ELISA test results using both monochromatic and bichromatic readings.
The Serology department conducts ELISA-based investigations, which play a vital role in diagnostics. Key tests include infectious disease markers such as HIV, HBsAg, HCV, and other hepatitis-related markers.
Molecular Biology
Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) has become the gold standard in molecular diagnostics, transforming the detection and monitoring of both infectious and non-infectious diseases.
By targeting nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), modern molecular techniques offer significantly higher sensitivity and specificity compared to traditional diagnostic methods. These advanced tools enable early, accurate detection of pathogens, leading to more effective patient management and treatment outcomes.
Histopathology
The department is equipped with an advanced automatic slide staining machine featuring 23 stations in a two-tier arrangement, designed to accommodate a wide range of staining techniques—from routine hematological stains to advanced cytology and histology procedures. Histopathological examinations involve the detailed analysis of tissue specimens, carried out using an automated tissue processor, precision microtomes, and high-resolution microscopes.
These technologies ensure accurate and efficient diagnosis, supporting high standards in patient care.
Cytopathology
The BD PrepMate automated accessory streamlines specimen transfer with high precision as part of the BD cellular enrichment process, utilizing BD density reagents. This process effectively removes non-diagnostic elements such as blood, mucus, and inflammatory cells, significantly reducing unsatisfactory test results.
The system ensures consistent performance by accurately mixing, aspirating, and dispensing defined specimen volumes, enhancing the overall quality and reliability of cytological evaluations.
Immunohaematology
The Biosurfit Spinit is a fully automated diagnostic platform designed to provide rapid, quantitative analysis of blood parameters within minutes.
Utilizing innovative disposable test discs, Spinit can perform a range of assays across immunohaematology and clinical chemistry. Its unique multi-detection technology allows for the integration of various testing methods, delivering accurate and timely results to support critical clinical decision-making.
Immunohistochemistry
Genetics
The Genetics department utilizes advanced molecular and cytogenetic techniques to analyze DNA, RNA, and chromosomes for the diagnosis of inherited disorders, genetic predispositions, and chromosomal abnormalities. Equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation, the laboratory performs high-precision tests such as karyotyping, fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH), and molecular assays like PCR and gene sequencing.
These diagnostic tools support personalized medicine, early detection of genetic conditions, and informed clinical decision-making.
